Taylor thanks Jessie for some tea and marmalade, laments the gas rationing which has prevented travel; discusses "Turnly?" who has been in Tunisia and on the Cassino front and whose present location is unknown; reports that "Ann" has a good life in Washington; and recommends Joseph Kessell's "Army of shadows."
